I am thinking of taking the kids on a trip across the country (8000 miles maybe more). I am wondering if my car will make it. It has given me NO trouble up to this point. I don't want to kill it. The 110,000 miles have all been mostly highway. Is there anything I would need to do as far a sprep work for the car before I leave? Or would I be better off renting a car?

These vehicles if maintained properly will last a very long time.

I would highly suggest getting it into a shop and ask them to inspect the vehicle. They will check the brakes, suspension components, make sure there are no leaks, ensure that all the fluids are in operating condition and so on.

8000mi's is quite a trip, so make sure you do an oil change halfway through the trip!

No problem serendipity3303. I'm glad I could of helped. Make sure you tell them you are going on an 8000mi trip, because they may tell you that in 8000mi your brakes or another component will be due to be replaced.
