2003 Honda CRV

"I test drove a 2003 Honda CR-v and after I turned off the engine I heard a ticking sound that seemed to be coming from underneath the car. The noise lasted a couple minutes. What could this be?

It is your exhaust heat shields contracting from all the heat.

Thanks for your response.

Since we just drove it for a quick and easy 10 minute test drive it seems that it should not have heated up so fast. We test drove others and we did not hear that noise.

Do you have advice on what we can say to the dealer or should we not be worried?
