2002 Honda CRV is it a burnt out transmission

Transmission problem
2002 Honda CRV 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 80.000 miles

I went almost 30 miles wondering what the electric shaver noise was. But it was my transmission then it slipped, I pulled over imediatly. Can I possibly put t-fluid in and it could be sort of ok. My wifes car --shes not happy. Ps while waiting for a tow I started I t up and went about 20 ft before it slipped. No transmission fluid bone dry
