With the air conditioning running and the car is at idle, the idle speed is low. It drops from ~500 rpm to ~300. The air is not cool at this point and a clicking sound is heard from the engine compartment (sounds like something is cycling off and on). When the car is in motion, the air is cold and no clicking sound is heard. Thanks for your help.

Hi stang9050,

The idling system is malfunctioning and I would suggest cleaning the throttle body and IAC. AC problem would be resolved if the idling speeds stabilises.

Is the Check Engine Light showing?
