When car is off and in park, Key will not turn in ignition. Clicking sound in steering column when you step on brake

Hi doon51,

Do you mean you are not able to remove the key or it is impossible to turn it to start?

When the ignition switch is turned to ON, the clicking noise when depressing the brakes is the interlock solenoid working. This would enable you to shift out of park.
