How hard is it to do a brake job yourself on a 1998 Honda CRV. I was planning on replacing the disk, rotars and pads because of the high mileage. I am pretty sure the frond disks are warped because I can feel it when you press on the brakes. I think things have just been turned down and not replaces in the past.

Hi jameszimmerhanzel,

The job is not very difficult. Put the front of vehicle on stands and remove wheels. Remove the brake calipers after taking out the lower slider bolt. Remove the disc pads.

Remove the caliper after removing mounting bolts, 2 pcs of 17 mm hex bolts (14mm x 1.25 thread) Remove rotor and you are ready to reverse the installation. Use a G-clamp with a pc of the old disc pads to press the brake piston in before you can install the the pump. Lubricate slider bolts before installation and use appropriate grease.
