I OWN A 1996 4WD HONDA CIVIC.

I NOTICED THAT WHENEVER I STEER EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT I HEAR A TERRIBLE VIBRATION WHICH INCREASES THE SHARPER I TURN. IT ONLY HAPPENS AT TURNS AT LOW SPEEDS. DRIVING ABOVE 40 KM ALL IS WELL AND I CAN TURN FREELY. I ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN I REVERSE AT HIGH SPEED EVEN IN A STRAIGHT LINE I HEAR A KLUNK KLUNK SOUND. Could the drive shaft orthe 4wd system be causing this. The car has approx. 120 kilos on it.

this is driving me up he wall and I really need some help as my mechanic inst offering much hope right now.

Nuff respect, Jamaica No problem

The noise up front when turning could be cv axles. The sound to the rear wheel drive or the klunking is either the drive shaft u joints or the differential.

Look under the vehicle. I would be looking at the boots on the CV axles. Rips, tears, openings are big indicators of problems.

The drive shaft to the rear axle when attempting to rotate or move up and down or sideways should have to give to it.
