Has grease been thrown out of it. Is it in the early stages of deterioration? I can pull of a CV axle and replace it in 20 minutes or less. I can pull on off and repair the boot in an hour and replace it as well. If you are not that familiar with the axle and tearing it down it could take you awhile. Special needs are the large socket to get the nut off the axle at the wheel, the clip removal pliers and the band tightener. With out the tools and not a lot of activity in replacing other boots, I would recommend replacing with a rebuilt CV axle.
