The OBD scanner saying it still waiting for EGR System monitor, and Catalyst System monitor are Not Clear or Not ready for inspection. Please advise

Hi beniandgautohaus,

When the PCM memory is cleared, to set the readiness codes, certain driving conditions muct be achieved before the readiness is completed.

Perform the following to see if it helps.

EGR MONITOR AND READINESS CODE

NOTE:
"Â Do not turn the ignition switch off during the procedure.
"Â All readiness codes are cleared when the battery is disconnected, if the DTCs have been cleared, or if the ECM/PCM is reset with the HDS.

Enable Criteria

Engine coolant temperature (ECT SENSOR 1) at 176 °F (80 °C) or more.

Procedure

1. Connect the HDS to the DLC.

2. Start the engine.

3. Drive at a steady speed with the A/T in D position or M/T in 4th gear, at 50-62 mph (80-100 km/h) or above for more than 10 seconds.

4. With the A/T in D position or M/T in 4th gear, decelerate from 62 mph (100 km/h) or above by completely releasing the throttle for at least 5 seconds. If the engine is stopped during this procedure, go to step 3 and do the procedure again.

5. Check the OBD status screen for DTC P0401 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.
"Â If it is PASSED, readiness is complete.
"Â If it is not PASSED, go to step 3 and retest.

Note : If you do not have the HDS a generic scanner would do. If you are not able to plug in the scanner, perform the test a few times and then scan to check if it is ready.
