A friend had this problem before and it was her struts, but every time I make a turn (ie when parking) I hear a clicking noise in my front left wheel. The place where I usually take it said it may be the struts and quoted me $1000. This include the parts and labor for the strut replacement, wheel alignment and parts and labor to replace the rear shocks. Do you have to get the rear shocks replaced when you get the struts in the front done? I'm I crazy to think that $1000 is too expensive? What's a ball park figure for such a service?

Hi mecabrer,

Thank you for the donation.

You need not replace the rear struts if the fronts are bad. They can be replaced separately unless tested and confirmed to be bad.

I would suggest getting a second opinion and the place that you sent to does not seem the right place to be in.

Struts would not cause clicking noises. If the clicking noise is loud under acceleration, then it sould be the CV joints that needs attention.
