2003 ignition switch

I put the key in my car and I can not turn it up or down. I bought the ignition switch at autozone because they told me that was the problem. But I do not know how to put it on. So I have two question. How do I repair the switch? Should I try to do it myself?

Hi flip05,

It should be something wrong with the key cylinder and NOT the ignition switch.

Which part have you bought?

Did you turn the steering wheel away from the stuck position to release the tension on the key cylinder when trying to turn it?
