Heater problem
2003 Honda Civic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 100k miles

My Civic's heat has stopped working. The self-diagnostic reports DTC #8 - A short in the air mix control module. When I turn the temperature knob all the way hot or cold, the motor under the dash board moves back or forth, but doesn't operate completely.

Is it time to start pulling out wiring to find a short? Any tips?

Thanks

Hi Sam83,

It is never good to go in blindly to check a problem. I have sent the diagnostic files to you, hope it is helpful.

Could you please send me the same files you send Sam83. I got a 03 civic to and the temp gauge is just under half and when I turn the heat on, I get cold air. I just replaced the thermostat and still got nothing. Any information would help
Solidpwder@sbcglobal. Net Oh what are the chances a heater core would be bad?

Hi Solidpwder,

I have sent the files to you. It is either the heater control valve or air mix motor/control module.
