2002 Honda Civic Jolt while driving

Shakes or Wobbles problem
2002 Honda Civic 4 cyl Automatic 105000 miles

My car gives me a quick jolt when driving like its skipping gears when accelerating and decelerating, then vibrates for a bit, then acts normal. This usually happens at lower speeds when speeding up but sometimes it happens other times. Please help, I would like an idea whats wrong? I figured maybe a vacuum or the timing belt was about to break but some people told me the timing belt and the vacuum wouldnt give me a warning before it broke, please help? Thanks

Hi there,

Timing belts wot give a warning, nor will a vacuum problem, I would get the transmission serviced by a qualified transmission specialist as they will be able to pick up on any minor problems with the transmission quicker than your general mechanic, start here.
