I went to gas my civic up and pressed down the interior gas hatch release lever but the gas hatch would not release. A couple of strangers came to help me but the hatch still would not release. \Is the cable broken? How would I find out? And if so how would I go about repairing it so it would work again - replace the cable?

Thanks,
David

Remove the tank side carpet trunk liner and you will find two cables: one to open the trunk and one to open the fuel fill cover. Pull the cable that releases the fuel fill cover and "pop" the cover will open. This is a temporary measure so that you can continue to gas up. - There- I answered my own question!
