I smelled burning plastic in my car, I popped the hood and I have a lighter with a flashlighter connected to it. It was dark and I used the flashlight to find the source of burning plastic smell. In short, the lighter fell and is now lodged underneath the raidator fan and the metal frame.

WHAT TO DO? IS THIS A VERY BAD SITUTATION? HOW CAN I GET THIS LIGHTER OUT?

Hi JMirani,

Thank you for the donation.

It should not be anything to worry about. The lighter, being small, would not obstruct anything and the heat around the area is not that high to cause the lighter to explode.

However you should get it out asap just in case.

If it is inside the fan shroud, you can get get a visual check to determine the position and can be retrieved without any problem.

If it is outside the shroud, it should be on top of the lower shields. Some banging of the lower splash shield should get the lighter to drop to the ground.
