2001 Honda Civic Re: Engine cooling fans

I had 2001 honda civic lx with 135000 miles. Suddenly in the morning.I tried to on A/C fan. It dint work.I checked the engine cooling fan I found they were not working either.I checked fuses. They are good. Please help me how do I figure out the problem.

Hi dhoom2931,

The cooling fans would only turn on when the fan switch is activated by the coolant temperature when the A/C is not used and this can take up 20 minutes of running time or more.

When A/C is turned on and the compressor does not engage, the cooling fans would not work as well.

You need to find out why the compressor is not engaging. It could be a blown fuse, low on refrigerant, faulty A/C switch, relay or PCM.

Try swapping the A/C clutch relay.
