2001 Honda Civic green key flashes

It just started sometimes when I try and start the car nothing happens but the green key light on the dash flashes. I have tried moving the shifter from netural to park and it didnt help, if I keep turning the key off and on then it starts after about 15 or 20 tries, when it dont start there is no noise like the battery is completely dead but its not all lights and accessories work. Any help? Also its the orginal key that come with the car new.

That is your immobilizer. Typically the problem is the immobilizer unit, but I would get a mechanic to diagnose the problem.

In the meantime, if you have a lot of keys on your key ring, try removing them, this may help.
