Hello I have a 2001 Honda civic 1.7l ok I have a issue when I drive my car for a certain period of time the car like shuts down and what I mean by shut down is the car don't turn off it just doesn't throttle right I can have peddal to floor board and the car only goes like 30 mph if that I just changed out the cataylic converter because I believed that what was wrong with my car but the problem occured again and I open my hood the cataylic converter was cherry red but I have seen this happen to my old cataylic converter so can you please help thank you.

Lack of acceleration, chugging, hesitating, bogging etc. Could be caused by one of the following below.

Inspect and test all the following listed below and get back with some results

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard.
