2000 Honda Civic oxygen sensor

hi I recently replaced one of my oxygen sensors and my distributor cap, my check engine light is on again and it says oxygen sensor again. The car sputters while idling at stop lights and jerks while it is changing gears. My question is when do I stop throwing money away in repairs or do you think this as simple as replacing sensor again
