Hi,

Up until yesterday (June 23/09), the a/c in my car worked fine. Major heatwave this week!
Today, the a/c worked fine when I initially got into the car, but as I was driving (about 10 mins in), the air in the vents started to warm.
I NO LONGER have cool air coming through my vents with the a/c on.

I'm certain this is NOT inexpensive to repair. Can you give me a ballpark repair price? Is there anything I can do to try and repair it myself? What are things I can look for?
I do have the Haynes repair book for my model.

Thank you!
Karen

Hi Karen,

It is difficult to provide a ball park price as you need to know hat has failed. It could be low cost such as a bad wire connection or an expensive repair with replacement of the compressor required.

First thing to check would be a the compressor, is it engaging when AC is turned ON. If no, then you need to check if the freon level is ok, are there any leaks.
