Hello, I opened the oil cap today after I drove thecar and I saw a drop of smoke coming out. I checked the oil level and it was half and when you loko inside and wipe your finger on the wall inside the engine black dust it looks like comes out. What is this. Also wil castrol high mileage clean this up. Does the oil filter help with removing this. Thank you

Hi there,

Some fumes are normal with engines that have a lot of miles on them, the muck under the rocker cover it carbon, you can use a good engine flush and always change the filter, this will help clean this up.

This will not have much bearing on the problem, using a good quality flush will help remove some of the sludge and carbon, regular oil changes are the best options to reduce sludge and carbon deposits in an old engine.
