I took my daughters car in for a noise when she released her breaks, they said her pads were fine but she needed her drums replced they were rusted and chipping? That was yesterday now today her car is making a a weird noise when she breaks and it comes from the rear? Is it from the drums not working correctly and should she not be driving it?

Hello,
I'm not to sue if I mentioned that supposedly they replaced the drums with new ones? So would I still have rust issues or drum problems?I did not have rear break problems prior to this.

The noise could be the drums, the backing plate, left-over rust, etc. It could be a few things. I would bring it back to the shop and complain that there is a new noise after they installed the brakes.

Wilsonre,

Sometimes with cheaper aftermarket drums and rotors, they are no always machined perfectly and some imperfections are left. In this case, I believe you got a defective drum put on the rear of the vehicle. If you go back to the shop, they should resolve this very easily for you.
