Noises problem
1997 Honda Civic 4 cyl Automatic 150000 miles

I get a clicking noise when the wheel is turned all the way to the right or left during u-turns (its kind of a deep clunk or knocking).

I assume its either a U joint, a CV joint or a loose drive shaft component.

A friend of mine who is a bit more car savvy said that there is no U-joint in my coupe; however I still need to know the severity of the problem and about how much its going to cost me.

Hi Srivera,

Sounds like the CV joints are due for replacement.

If the noise is not very loud, you still can drive the car without any problem. If the noise is very bad even when taking off or driving straight ahead, you can have the shaft travelling faster than your car, that would be very dangerous.

Sorry I am unable to provide any costing. Check around at the parts outlets, they should be able to help you.
