1997 Honda Civic Loud exhaust noise

Just in the past few days I have noticed a loud exhaust sounding noise resinating from my engine. I am not sure of what it is. My car vibrates while accelerating and I get very little power while accelerating. I am wondering if there is a hole in the exhaust pipe. While I accelerate the sound gets louder and louder as I give it more gas but as soon as I stop giving it gas the noise goes away completely.

Yeah I believe your correct. There is probably a hole up by the exhaust manifold. It doesn't necessarily have to be a large hole either, a small one or a crack will cause the problem. So yes; exhaust leak. Check it out and let me know your findings
