1997 Honda Civic Hot A/C

My father brought home this 97 Honda Civic for me and yes it gets me from place to place, but it is not in great condition. With the hot weather, my AC does not work. It blows out hot air, making it hard to drive. How can I cool it down without spending a lot of money?

Start by checking the high and low pressures could be a freon problem, clutch and compressor
