I have a 97' honda civic hx with about 77k miles on it. I bought it used when it had about 76.5k miles on it and it drove fine, but once I hit the 77k mark the car would begin to shake violently once I would hit about 3000 rpm or about 40 mph, but once you come to a stop the shaking stops until you hit the 40mph mark or 3k rpm. Does someone know what the problem would be?

Hi evelation,

You description of the symptoms is not very clear so it is hard to give any answer.

Does the vibration continue after 40 mph and at what speed above 40 mph did it lessen out or disappears?

Does it happen with full throttle or normal acceleration?

What type of vibration are you feeling?

When vibration happens, it only goes away when you come to a stop?

Is it engine misfiring? Have you checked the plugs?

It continues past 40mph and lasts until I come to a stop. At first it would only happen during full throttle acceleration, but now it is doing it during normal acceleration as well. The vibration feels as if I can feel the cylinders firing, and you can feel the entire car shake. The vibration only goes away when I come to a stop. Haven't checked the plugs yet.
