1995 Honda Civic Transmission shifting

I have a 1995 civic I just got it and the car just stays in first and does not shift what can it be and how many oslenoids does the transmission?

Hi Luisp813,

Transmission is not electronically controlled so there are no shift solenoids. The only solenoids utilised are for the lock up clutch.

Possible causes for your problems are internal.

Thanks but is there any way I can fix that or how much would it cost me and would I have to unbolt the transmission

This is a trans internal fault with the valve body and controls and a rebuilt is necessary to rectify.

Get a price quote from your local trans specialist.
