Hello, I have a 1995 Honda Civic, came with a rebuit engine. The car was fine til a couple months ago when it started overheating, after several new parts, we discovered that it was the head gasket that need to be fixed, and got that done. This weekend, after we put it back together, it had problems with startup. It would shake a bit, like its ready to stall, but after warming up and driving a bit, went away. Sometimes it will start to drop RPMs to about 50 (yes I mean between the flat line and the mark to start off 100rpms) and start the shaking, which is understandable seeing as it's ready to stall. Anyway, I was wondering if you have any suggestions for my father and I of what to check to figure this mystery car out

Thanks in advance
Michael

Give your throttle body a good cleaning and spray all the idle passages, you have two (IACV & FITV). You may also remove these two idle valves and clean them as well if you know how.

If your idle system is fine, you may have a sensor out of range on cold-starts or something of that nature.
