1995 Honda Civic LX, 4-door, automatic, 151,000 miles. Body in good shape. A/C works. Driver side rear power window does not work. Other routine maintenance done as recommended by the manufacturer. No major repairs needed.

For a year the car has been running hot in local driving with the last 3 months consisting of adding coolant to the reservoir every week then every day.

My local repair shop says the car needs a new head gasket after testing the radiator on several occasions.

The cost is $1200-1500. Is it worth it for a Civic? We are contemplating selling the car 'as is' or getting it repaired and selling the car.

For now it is sitting in the driveway doing nothing.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The best way I can answer it is, Can you replace the car for the amount of money to repair it and still have a car the you know what the condition of the rest of it is?

I understand your reply, but, my intention is not to keep the car.

It is currently a third car. If the older of our other two cars needs to be replaced, we plan to buy a new one.

Sell it as is I guess. The bigger finanacial mistake is buying a new one. Without question.
