1994 Honda Civic accelorating noise

Recently I noticed that when I push the accelerator the engine makes a very loud roar. Imagine the typical sound a car makes when accelerating then multiply that by 3. Also I noticed a pinging and knocking noise when idling. Please help me I don't know where to start with this problem.

For noise problems, unless you can describe and make us undertstand where it is originating from, it is not possible to provide any suggestions.

It is best to get someone who knows about cars to have a look.
