My car leaks power steering fluid all the time about one bottle every 1200 miles. It loses the most fluid when backing up or when on a hill.I recently left it parked for a month and it lost half a bottle.

Hi there,

you will have to wash it down and check where the leak is coming from, there are only 3 placed it will leak, Pump, pressure & return hoses, or the rack, determine where the leak is and re post if you require further assistance.

The leak is coming from the rack. Can I fix it without changing the whole assembly.

Hi there,

you will have to replace the rack as often the internals are so worn that the pressure leaks and blows out the end seals, just replacing the rack seals is not the fix the rack will have to be re built, this is quite normal.
