1993 Honda Civic replacing back window latch

There was a peice that broke off of the latch on the rear window from my 93 civic hatchback dx. So I got the replacement peice, but I don't know how to take out the gears from the rear wiper without breaking it off, so I can put the new part on. Anyone know how it's supposed to come off?

Hi jeff_123,

Outside vehicle, remove wiper arm cover, nut, wiper arm, seal retainer nut and washer, and outer seal rubber from wiper motor shaft.

Inside vehicle, remove hatch trim panel. Disconnect rear wiper motor 4 pin connector. Remove 3 bolts and rear wiper motor.
