Where is the computer in the 91 civic lx? I think it's the computer doing this but am not sure. Will be driving along and the tach hand will suddenly drop to 0, a few minutes later there is a clicking sound from under the dash and a few minutes after that all the warning lights come on and the car just dies. It will restart only with a boost and the whole thing starts again after a few minutes. Car has a new battery and the alternator has checked out good. Help

I suspect the crank position sensor is weak, and needs replacement, but you should verify that there is weak or no spark during this no start situation. Just to solidify my suspicion.

It starts right away if you boost it. 5 minutes down the road it quits. It also quits if you turn the headlights on. Advance tested the alternator and said it was ok. Do you know where the computer is?

I still say you should verify spark and fuel when this no start happens, that way we can narrow it down significantly.

In the civics any of them the ecu is on the passenger side under the carpe. When your car dies pull your carpet back & read the blinks it'll be a code telling you what your problem is or sumthing else thats wrong. Mines doing a code 20 which is a ELD(Electrical Load Detector) but my eld isnt bad its detecting a short somewhere that causeing a electrical load somewhere that I need to find.
Hope this helps
