My son pulled the head and had it refurbished. He now needs to re-install it. He's finding out there is a little more to it than just putting it back in. Can you give us instructions on how to do it?

I goes back together just fine but let me add this for assistance. When was the timing belt last replaced, etc. Water pump, belt tensioner. You need to be concerned that the timing belt is put on properly. Please tell him to go to the library and get a repair book on the vehicle or buy one the parts store or they are available through links found on this website. The timing belt had to be taken off when the head was removed and it is critical to have it put on properly.

New head gasket and intake gasket will be used right? As a suggestion, I would take off the exhaust manifold and have the shop plane it. New exhaust manifold and you should be set.

One last bit of advice. Make 100% sure that the old head and intake gaskets are removed. Any little piece of the old left on will cause leaks and problems. And finally, follow the torque recommendations and torque sequence of intake, exhaust, and head.

Good luck!
