The engine lopes bad sometimes when its idling, usually only after its warmed up. It doesn't do it when I drive. There is also a noise that it makes when I'm going uphill (kinda like a faint grinding sorta noise, its not loud though), especially if I let it lug and stay in a lower gear. When I park and get out of the car I usually smell gas a little bit as well. I don't know if any of this is related but any ideas on where I should start?

The idle problem is probably your fast idle thermo valve. If not, I would then check your IACV and for vacuum leaks. But my money is on the FITV (fast idle thermo valve)

Thanks for the reply. I reset my timing and it seems to be running a bit better, like the engine ping is gone. I adjusted my idle as well so its a little bit quieter. I will clean that valve you spoke of thats underneath my throttlebody and see if that helps as well. Thanks again.
