I have a 1989 honda civic 1.5 engine, manual trans, dual point fuel injection.

problem: the engine revs high and low at idle.
local mechanic suggested throttle positon sensor or idle control valve. Any thoughts or solutions?

Disconnect throttle position sensor, is idle problem solved?

Try checking the voltages with closed then wide open then sweeping from low to open with pedal dont do by hand have someone use gas pedal as if you do it by hand can mess with the reading.
