I am trying to locate this box. I may need to adjust the sensitivity knob, but I cannot find it. It is factory. I have researched and researched with no luck. I have looked and looked underneath the steering wheel and did not find it. I know what it looks like, and saw nothing even close to it. Also, what is the best way to reset it as well?

Well there is no sensitivity adjustment on the OEM system. There is a microphone and the contents theft module that are under the dash mounted up next to the brake pedal mount. However if your problem is that it is going off with very light sounds you may want to talk to your local dealer first. There is a TSB on them and if you talk to them nicely they may replace the box and mic and program it for free or at reduced cost.
If the issue is that the key or that section of the system is the problem those are parts built into the steering column and the powertrain control module.
What seems to be the issue?

The thing just goes of at will. Would you believe that I took it to the dealer a few days back, and it act perfectly within three hours of them keeping it? Since then, I have not had any problems. Darn or I guess I am thankful?

That sounds like a content box issue if it has that option. Other issues can be a bad door or hood switch. Did they give you any feedback on it? Usually you can look into the security module information and it will tell you what triggered it, although some lack that.

They said they could not get it to duplicate and they hated to replace the wrong thing. They told me if it happens again, let them keep it over night.

Have you noticed any pattern? Like parking at an angle or under a tree or? The hood switches are a common issue as they sort of get hammered down over time. Do you notice if the interior lights are on when it goes off? That could indicate a door switch. Any door ajar message lights while driving?

No sir, I have not. However, it is doing great now, after the fact I have taken it to the dealer a few days ago, and nothing was founded wrong as I have explained earlier. They could not get it to duplicate, after having it about three hours. You have given me some great pointers that I can share with them, in the case this issue should happen again. Thank you so much!

It is possible they started poking around and moved a connector and magically made the problem go away, or they did a repair that did not make it onto the paper. If it returns just let us know. Thank you for using 2CarPros, Please return anytime with your automotive questions.

It is very possible they did. The tech said he looked at a few things, he placed the key in the driver's door and went through like a reset process. Then, he let it set about three hours and no negative happenings. All seemed settled and good. Again, thank you so much for all of your help/inputs!
