Hello, and thanx, new user here, umm I own a 1998 Honda Accord EX with the Vtec engine, my question is, what does Idle control system malfunction exactly mean, I got it from when I did an engine read because of a service engine light! After briefly reading about it online I can realte to a problem (i think) while driving my car it acutally kind of skips, I feel like my car is hesisantant at times, as if I can feel the gears changing, a friend of mine said it could be the PCV valve or the PCV hose, so I dont know I would like you exprert opnion!

I would check the Idle Air Control valve. The screens get plugged. You need to take it off and take apart to clean.

Cool how do I do that? Is it hard to get to, or fairly easy!

IAC valve should be located below the throttle body (where the accelerator cable connects) It has a couple of hoses and wires connected to it. Two of the hoses are small lines that carry coolant.

Your best investment in your car is a service repair manual. Ebay, auto parts store, etc. Around $20 or less and worth the money. You will find yourself more confident to take on auto repairs.
