D4 light flashing

I have a 1992 Honda Accord LX 4 cylinder with 198,000 mi. With automatic transmission. When you try to start the car the D4 light is flashing and the car want start and if it does the car transmission does not shift out right, but if the D4 light is not flashing car starts and runs normal.

I had a 94 accord ex that did the same thing at 135,000 miles. The news isn't good. Today, it happened again and the honda dealership told me they didn't know the cause and recommended getting rid of the car. I had fuel pump, relay switch, and distributor replaced. Nothing helped. If I were you, I'd sell it now, I put over 3000.00 in mine and nothing helped. Sorry

As of 12/6/7, the Honda dealership just offered me $500.00 for a trade-in on my 94 accord. I just spent 350.00 on tires in 08/07. Very disappointed in Honda, and will not purchase one again.
