Cylinder Leak

89 Accord - 250,000 Miles. Carburetor model. LX Automatic

Had a problem with smoke and oil entering air cleaner. Decided to replace valve stem seals. Removed all spark plugs, rocker arm assembly, distributor, tiing belt, cam, etc.

Discovered that the number 2 cylinder would not pressurize when using the KD air hold hose.
Compressed Air is coming up from the oil drain hole in the cylinder head in the corner next to the number 1 cylinder (timing belt side).

Before I go any further, can you think of anything short of blown rings or a cracked casting that can cause this?
I have a few broken exhaust manifold studs, but I don't see how that could cause this problem.
And it would seem to me that the head gasket wouldn't cause this either.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

You have classic "blow by" which is caused by a tired engine especaily the rings and deposits oil in the breather.

Remember Honda cylinders are not all the same size so rebuilding is a night mare unless you bore each hole. They are colored coded and with all the miles the color is gone. Good luck
