Problem with a leakage in cars A/C. I drove to few repairing garages some suggest A/C cooling coil leak. Some say condenser leak. I am bit confused? Like I can be cheated this way. Please help.

As replacement of cooling coil is costly. And also are Evaporator coil and cooling coil are same things. Really confused. Compressor? Condenser? Evaporator? Cooling coil?

Thank you,
Para Max

Hi,

The items you mentioned are different words for the same thing. The evaporator is under the dash and resembles a small radiator and your blower motor forces air through it and then cold air enters the vehicle.

The condenser is different and is located in front of the engine coolant radiator and also resembles a radiator.

So, before anything, we really need to determine what is leaking. I will be happy to provide directions for repairs, but we need to know what needs repaired or replaced.

Here is a link that explains how to find an AC leak. Take a look through it and let me know if it is something you feel comfortable doing.

Let me know.
