My service engine light recently came on and I am not sure why. I have maintained the car well and I was trying to find out if this is just something that happens at a certain mileage or what? I have no problems and I am confused?

Unfortunately there are about 1000 reason (no exaggeration) for the light to come on. The only way we are going to know for sure what this issue could be is to check the codes.

Here is a guide that will help with this:

Once we know what codes are there we will know what action to take. This is not a thing that happens just at certain mileage. It does indicate an issue so let's get the codes and go from there. If you don't have a scan tool then you can stop by a parts store and most of them will pull the codes for free.

Let us know if you have questions. Thanks
