I am the original owner of my 2005 honda accord car. So far it has been running great. Recently I have noticed that when I apply brakes a squeaking sound seems to be coming out from the back of my car. My friends say it is because brake shoe may have worn out. This sound doesn't come in normal drive. Only when I apply brakes.
How much can I expect to pay to fix this problem.

Hello,

It sounds like the rear pads are worn.
On the pads there are metal tabs that come in contact with the rotor to make the noise. This is an indicator that the pads are worn and need replacing.

Keep in mind it is important to check the rotor and make sure they are within specification and replace if necessary.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
