2004 Honda Accord Rattle under hood

There has been a new rattle under the hood and my mechanic replaced the idle piece which did not fix the rattle.
the rattle is near the belts. And he now says it is the water pump. Can I trust that this may be the problem before I spend the amount to fix it?

The rattle sounds like something is loose.
