I have a 2004 honda accord. The lights on the radio channels are not lighting up. The lights on the center panel are not working. The radio display works but no knobs light up. The knobs for the windows, on the door, and the heated seat knob light up but just not the ones for radio station, heat and air buttons. What could this be and what do I need to do about it.

Hi jmcgill23,

Seems the radio back lights are not working and it is internal. You ned to remove the radio unit for repairs.

Hey,
I had the same problem on my 2004 accord as well. The backlights are built in to the radio console and it cost A LOT of money to replace the whole thing. If your car has under 100,000 miles on it bring it to the dealer and tell them that you read that there was a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) Number TSB #04-027. This bulletin states that the radio should be replaced for free by the dealer. If you have any problems getting the dealer to cooperate, call American Honda Motor Corporation at their HQ in California to resolve the issue. Once you bring up the TSB with the number, the dealer will probably realize that you know what you are talking about and that you what you deserve.

Hi ehlin,

Thank you for the input. It is very much appreciated.

Just curios and would like to know the reason why you gave me a negative vote.
