I had rear pads & rotors changed at 30k miles due to a scored rotor. Pads showed normal wear and rotors looked good otherwise. Local shop did the work. 8 mo and 8k miles later both rotors were corroded and one was warped. Shop redid the work no charge. Now 6mo and 6k miles later, same thing. Don't want to just change pads & rotors again without finding the real cause. Could both calipers be bad or damaged during the initial service? Front brakes are fine. Car has ABS & Traction control. It is parked in a garage, not out in the snow & rain.

Photo shows worst side.

Hi jerry8476,

Thank you for the donation.

Your car is parked more than driven. When there is prolonged period when vehicle is not used, rust would form on the the brake rotors no matter where you park it.

Moisture from the atmosphere would cause it and there is nothing you can do to prevent it except keep the rotors warm.

Front are ok and rear is not might be due to quality of parts used.
