I am about to buy a 2000 Honda Accord, but the passenger side mirror was cracked off with a utility pole. Rather than have the mirror assembly dangle by the two wires, the owner cut the wires and removed the assembly. I would like to buy and replace the mirror myself.

Are there replacement mirrors on the market that I can buy for less money than what a dealer wants? How does one remove the old and install the new? Need special tools?

Thanks!
George

Yes, you can purchase a replacement mirror for your vehicle at many online stores such as craigslist. Com or ebay. Com. Also get price quotes at part stores such as autozone.

Lower the door glass fully then carefully pry out the mirror mount cover by hand.
Remove the door panel.
Disconnect the connector and detach teh harness clip, then remove the nuts or bolts securing the mirror.
While holding the mirror, push out the clip and remove the mirror.

Install the mirror in the reverse order of removal, making sure the connector is plugged in properly and harness clip is secure.
