2000 Honda Accord Maint req signal blinking

I have purchased 2000 Honda Accord SE model. When I turn on the ignition, Main Req light blinks for around 10-12 sec and then automatically goes off. Is that a problem? Before purchasing the car, I had a Firestone inspection done, but they didnt reported any problem like that. Any information in this regard would be appreciated.

Its a light that comes on every 7,500mi to remind you to service the car, regardless of the car's condition. It has to be reset manually and will come on again after reaching the mileage.
With the car off, press and hold the select and reset button, start the car with the other hand and wait till shuts off (10sec)
