The reason why I was asking this questions was because my wife took our 1999 Honda Accord to an oil change place called "Oil Can Henry's". "Oil Can Henry's" said that a synthetic oil was recommended by Honda as per their print sheet from Honda. I was unsure if that was the right type of oil to put in her car. It was the first time a synthetic oil had been used. It is my understanding that synthetic oil has a detergent so it will clean the engine while you are driving. Is this true? I have also heard that once you use a synthetic oil you cannot go back to using a conventional oil. Is this correct as well.

Sincerely,
Skylar_m
