1999 Honda Accord HELP I DON'T HAVE ANY ANSWERS

I have a 99 honda accord lx that has 191,820 miles, lately when I drive it goes to the 1st gear and as the other gear need to kick in the rpm goes up to 5000 and 6000 with me going only 40-50mileper hour. I had it check and they just keep telling me it will cost about $3,000, that I have no choice but to get a new transmisson. PLEASE HELP!

Hi butterfly70570,

Seems the clutches are slipping either due to pressure leakages or worn clutch discs. You need to either rebuild or replace the trans.

Did you try to retrieve for Diagnostic Trouble Codes?
Are the trans fluid level correct and the color is bright red?
Where did you send the vehicle for testing and did you try to get a second opinion from another shop?
